The Way: Conclusion

The Way: What it Means to Be a Disciple of Jesus

This series has been about “the Way.” The point of this study was not just to learn what the Bible says about it. The purpose has been for YOU to make a decision.

The vital question that must be answered is this: Do you belong to the Way?

If you do not belong to the Way, please understand that Jesus is “the way” (John 14:6) – the only way – to salvation. Peter said, “And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). You can become one who belongs to “the Way” just as those in the first century did – by hearing the gospel (Luke 8:8), believing that Jesus is the Christ (John 8:24), repenting of your sins (Luke 13:3, 5), confessing your faith (Romans 10:9-10), and being baptized into Christ (Mark 16:16; 1 Peter 3:21). This is the path to get onto the “narrow [way] that leads to life” (Matthew 7:14) that has been outlined in the Scriptures. If you want to become a follower of Jesus, you simply need to do what people in the first century did to become His disciples.

If you do belong to the Way, be sure that you continue on the right path. Do not “shrink back to destruction” (Hebrews 10:39); rather, be “faithful until death” (Revelation 2:10). Like Paul, you must continue to “press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:14).

Jesus is “the way” (John 14:6). His followers belong to “the Way” (Acts 9:2). If you are not yet walking the path that is shown to us in His word, start your walk today! If you are walking this path, never give up! This path leads to eternal life. You do not want to miss out on that reward.
