    riding in ones vehicle or sitting at home listening and singing
    along to say the cathedrals quartet? thx Scott

  2. Hi Scott. Thanks for the question. The passages used to establish the principle of “singing only” are not specifically about the assembly of the church. Therefore, rather than limiting them to the assembly, they need to be applied to what is under discussion in those passages – the singing of psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. If the songs under consideration fall into the category of psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, then the principles of those passages apply – regardless of whether we are in a local church assembly or not.
