Top 5 on Plain Bible Teaching in 2025

Plain Bible Teaching Top 5 in 2025

This year is quickly drawing to a close, and it will be 2026 before we know it. Before we get there, it is time for the annual “Top 5” post on Plain Bible Teaching, where we look back at the most-read articles, most-listened-to podcast episodes, and most-watched videos – not necessarily to see what was most “popular” but what was most helpful.

A couple of things I noticed that I thought were interesting:

  • A book review made it in the Top 5 articles posted this year. I don’t think we’ve had that before.
  • Three of the Top 5 Facebook posts were Restoration History articles.

21st Year of Plain Bible Teaching

Open Bible and Coffee Mug

Plain Bible Teaching launched on August 1, 2005, so we have just completed twenty years and are now beginning year number twenty-one!

I am very thankful that I have been able to do this for so long. I enjoy the work that goes into writing articles and creating other content, which is published here and on other platforms. However, looking at website analytics and social media statistics, as well as reading emails and messages sent to me, I know that this work is benefiting people throughout the country and around the world. I am grateful for that and recognize that all of this is only possible because of the blessings of God, so He is the one worthy of praise for whatever good might be done here.

I also want to take this opportunity to thank each one of you for reading, listening, watching, following, and sharing this material. I am also appreciative of all of the emails, messages, and face-to-face comments offering words of encouragement to me in this work. Whether you have been following Plain Bible Teaching since the beginning, have recently discovered it, or are somewhere in between, I’m glad you are here.Continue Reading

20th Year of Plain Bible Teaching

Open Bible with Coffee Cup

The beginning of August means the start of another year of Plain Bible Teaching. The first year started back on August 1, 2005. That means we just completed nineteen full years and are beginning year number twenty!

I feel incredibly blessed that I have been able to carry on this work for so long. Honestly, at this point, I cannot imagine myself not doing this type of work. Part of the reason I have stuck with this so long is that (1) I know how many people are accessing the material on the site (based on website analytics and social media statistics), and (2) I know the material is helpful to people (based upon the emails and comments I receive directly).

So on this anniversary of Plain Bible Teaching, let me take this opportunity to express my sincere appreciation to each of YOU for reading, following, and sharing this material, as well as offering words of encouragement to me in this work. Some of you have been following Plain Bible Teaching since the beginning, others have discovered the site recently, and most are somewhere in between. No matter how long you have been following, I’m glad you’re here and hope the materials posted here will help you for many years to come.Continue Reading

Free PDF: Chronological Bible Reading Plan

Chronological Bible Reading Plan

As Paul explained to Timothy, the Scriptures have been given to us by God and they equip us to do those works that are pleasing to Him (2 Timothy 3:16-17). Therefore, it is essential that we know what has been revealed in the word of God so that we can carry out His will. One of the ways we gain knowledge of God’s word is through reading. When we “read [we] can understand  (Ephesians 3:4). Therefore, we are to “give attention to…reading” (1 Timothy 4:13).

When it comes to reading the Bible, it is vital that we make it a habit. In order to help establish this as a regular practice, many people follow some Bible reading plan. Our chronological Bible reading plan is broken up into four quarters (13 weeks each) and goes through the Bible chronologically. There are a couple of advantages to this plan:Continue Reading

No matter how long you have been following, I’m glad you’re here and hope the materials posted here will help you for many years to come.

The goal from the beginning has been to publish materials that can accurately be described as “plain Bible teaching” in order to help others learn or be reminded of what the word of God teaches so that they might be encouraged to live in a way that will be pleasing to the Lord. I’m thankful I’ve been able to do this for this long and have no plans to stop.Continue Reading
