Plain Bible Teaching Podcast

This week we’re talking about social media and the way others respond to the religious content we might post on there. Many Christians use social media, at least in part, to share content that contains a religious message (articles, images, videos, etc.). However, if you do this on a regular basis, there’s a good chance you’ve had people block, unfollow, or unfriend you on that social media site. And often you won’t even know when this has happened. So what do we do about this? We’re going to talk about that in our episode today.Continue Reading

Plain Bible Teaching Podcast

This week we’re talking about the Southern Baptist Convention voting to prohibit women from serving as “pastors.” Even though much of the religious world has followed along with society in blurring the distinction of roles between men and women, an overwhelming majority voted for the amendment that clarified the SBC’s position on this. Yet the opponents of this amendment who are in favor of women pastors and preachers often cite certain women mentioned in the New Testament as “proof” that they have served and can serve in these roles. We’re going to discuss this in our episode today.Continue Reading

Plain Bible Teaching Podcast

This week we’re talking about a pitcher for the Toronto Blue Jays who shared a social media post that was deemed offensive by LGBT promoters and supporters. Not long after he was coerced into making an apology, he was cut by the team. For many in our culture, promoting Biblical standards of sexuality and gender is an unforgivable sin. We’re going to talk about this today.Continue Reading
